Solar Panels questions

Solar Panel Common Questions

Do the solar panels only work when the sun is out?

The answer is No. The solar panels absorb natural light to generate energy. So while they work best on long summer days when there is the most light, they still generate energy during the daylight in winter.

Do I need planning permission to install solar panels?

You do not need planning permission unless your property is a listed building or a conservation area.

Can solar panels be fitted on to shallow pitch or flat roofs?

Yes they can but they need to still be inclined to achieve the correct pitch.

Will these systems provide all my power needs?

Not all the time for instance at night or when you are using a lot of power, the system will be augmented by energy from conventional sources to maintain your constant supply.

How much maintenance is needed?

Very little maintenance is needed other than an annual clean as there are no moving parts, we provide this in our after care and we can also perform yearly system performance check-ups.

Do there make noise?

No they do not make any noise

How long will my system last?

A good quality solar power system will last 30 plus years but efficiency will drop over a long period of time. We provide efficiency guarantees with the solar panels we use.

How much does it cost?

The cost varies from each individual property depending on property size. One of our main aims is to keep cost as low as possible.
